Students from Terminale went to an exhibition at the CCCB last week, reviewing the creative career of New York film director Stanley Kubrick (1928-1999). This in-depth exploration of the complete works of Kubrick presents video extracts as well as objects and props from the director’s personal archives: research and production documents, screenplays, stills, tools, costumes, models, cameras and lenses, items which attest to the director’s meticulous approach to the planning and execution of his works.
The students’ visit focused on Stanley Kubrick’s renowned experiments with special effects and innovative pictorial composition. This year was the 50th anniversary of one of his masterpieces – 2001: A Space Odyssey.
